Event slated for Jan. 19 at First Presbyterian Church
The annual Mayor’s Breakfast, hosted by the Haddonfield Lions Club, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, 20 Kings Highwa East in Haddonfield. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Mayor Neil Rochford will deliver the annual State of the Borough Address and also present the Citizen of the Year award, which recognizes an outstanding member of the Haddonfield community.
The winner is selected by the Citizen of the Year Committee, which is comprised of a group of Haddonfield community members. Nominations are now being accepted. The submission deadline is Monday, Dec. 31.
Many outstanding community members have been nominated previously, and the committee is happy to consider both former and new nominees. However, nominations must be current and include the 2019 nomination form as a cover sheet, together with one or more statements by those making the recommendation.
Note: All nominees must be Haddonfield residents. The nomination process is now open!
A nomination form can be downloaded by visiting the Haddonfield Lions Club website, www.haddonfieldlions.org, and clicking on the Citizen of the Year link. Forms are also available at the Haddonfield Information Center or by contacting the Citizen of the Year committee chair, Tom Quigley, at [email protected]. A list of previous Citizen of the Year winners is also on the website.
At the Mayor’s Breakfast, the Lions will be collecting eyeglasses, hearing aids and cell phones for recycling. Again this year, the Club will also collect non-perishable food items for the Food Pantry at the John D. Young Memorial Blind Center in Absecon.
Tickets are $8 each and will be available at the door.
