Area Flood Watch issued for Sicklerville with heavy rain expected Thursday and Friday

The National Weather Service says up to 2.5 inches of rain could fall Thursday night into Friday in the region.

An Areal Flood Watch has been issued for Gloucester Township and all of southern New Jersey as a ton of rain is expected to fall Thursday night into Friday across the region.

The flood watch will be in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday through 7 p.m. on Friday. A strong low pressure is expected to arrive in the region Thursday night, bringing widespread rainfall. The National Weather Service says 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain is expected to fall, with locally higher amounts possible.

Flooding is possible along roadways and areas of poor drainage as the ground is saturated from recent rain. River flooding is also possible Thursday night into Friday. Residents are asked to monitor the weather forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
