Awards given to two Cherry Hill residents at police academy graduation

The Gloucester County Police Academy held its graduation ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Two Cherry Hill residents received awards at the graduation of the 53rd Basic Police Class of the Gloucester County Police Academy on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Rowan College at Gloucester County.

Shadi Zaiton received the academic award at the event, while Timothy Sost received the Physical Training Award.

Twenty men and two women were part of the graduation class. The ceremony marked the completion of their 19-week training session. Police Academy Director Fred H. Madden welcomed guests, with opening remarks provided by Board of Trustees Chairperson Gene J. Concordia. The keynote address was presented by retired Resident Agent in Charge (RAC) Daniel Brown of the Drug Enforcement Agency.

The 22 graduates represented Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland and Gloucester Counties and the state of New Jersey.
