Residents can revel in the holiday season with Holiday House, township tree lighting

Cherry Hill Public Library will also host holiday-themed events for all ages this season

Cherry Hill residents who can’t wait to get into the holiday spirit won’t have to wait much longer. The township’s holiday events will kick off later this month and continue through the remainder of the year. From the traditional tree lighting to fun events at the library, there are a number of ways for residents of all ages to enjoy the holiday season.

Barclay Farmstead hosting Holiday House

This year’s annual Barclay Farmstead Holiday House will have a nod to its own living history.

Holiday House will be decorated throughout, portraying the theme “Barclay Collections Unveiled.” There will be something for everyone. Gifts may be purchased and light refreshments will be provided. There will even be a wine tasting session from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.

Holiday House will be open on Friday, Nov. 30, from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2, from noon to 4 p.m. A suggested donation of $5 at the door helps support ongoing restoration and award-winning programs. Holiday lighting ceremony scheduled for Dec. 3

Cherry Hill Township’s annual holiday lighting ceremony will take place on Monday, Dec. 3, at the Carman Tilelli Community Center. The event features youth choirs and musicians from Cherry Hill schools. Santa Claus will make a special appearance to help Mayor Chuck Cahn and members of council light the township’s Christmas tree and Hanukkah menorah, while also commemorating Kwanzaa.

“As we enter the holiday season, Cherry Hill Township offers a variety of events for residents of all ages and faiths. In particular, our annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony is a great opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the start of Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa,” Cahn said. “Local choirs and musicians will bring in the joyous sounds of the season and we will celebrate all we have to be thankful for.”

Hanukkah Laser Light Show

The Katz JCC will be hosting a Hanukkah celebration unlike any other on Sunday, Dec. 9, with a classic-rock spin on the traditional Festival of Lights. From 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the public is encouraged to witness a colorful, eye-opening blast of laser lights, along with traditional treats and science. Latkes and light refreshments will be served. Library hosting variety of holiday events

Residents of all ages can get into the holiday spirit next month at the Cherry Hill Public Library.

The Young Entrepreneurs Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Looking for the perfect gift you won’t get in the stores or online? Want to let someone you care about know they deserve something special? Stop by to find creative, affordable items made by creative, business-minded young people. For more information, contact Youth Services at (856) 903–1229.

On Tuesday, Dec. 18, folks can participate in the Holiday Movie Family Trivia Night Fundraiser to support the library from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Residents 8 years old and up are welcome to attend. Each trivia team can have up to six players. Cost: $5 per person, and pre-registration is required. To pay with cash or check visit the administration office at CHPL. Outside food and drinks are permitted, but no alcohol. Prizes will be awarded.

The following day, Wednesday, Dec. 19, adults can bring their lunch to a free viewing of the movie “The Man Who Invented Christmas.” Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the movie starts at noon. Call (856) 667–0300 or visit [email protected] for more information.

Finally, on Monday, Dec. 31, kids can ring in the New Year early at the library’s annual New Year’s Eve at Noon event. It will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Kids ages 18 months to 6 years old can ring in the New Year at noon with dancing, music and fun activities. No registration is needed.
