According to unofficial results from the Camden County Board of Elections, the three newcomers won three-year terms on the board, besting three incumbents and five other challengers.
It appears that there will be three new faces will be on the Cherry Hill Board of Education come January.
According to unofficial results from the Camden County Board of Elections, the trio of Sally Tong, David Rossi and Laurie Neary have won seats on the Cherry Hill BOE. The three finished ahead of incumbents Kathy Judge, J. Barry Dickinson and Ken Tomlinson Jr., as well as five other challengers. The preliminary vote count only includes votes cast at polling places on Tuesday, with 47 of 48 voting districts reporting. The unofficial results do not yet include mail-in or provisional ballots.
In the preliminary results, Tong finished in first place with 14.57 percent of the vote, Rossi took second place with 12.96 percent and Neary finished in third place with 11.90 percent. The three ran together under the slogan “Accountability, Collaboration, Transparency.”
Incumbent Kathy Judge was the next highest finisher in fourth place, with 9.87 percent of the vote. Behind her was challenger Rosy Arroyo with 8.44 percent of the vote. Another incumbent, Ken Tomlinson Jr., finished in sixth place with 8.36 percent.
Sanjay Sharma from the “Kids Education First” team finished in seventh place with 7.93 percent of the vote. Another challenge, Ben Shore, came in eighth place with 7.80 percent. Incumbent and current board president J. Barry Dickinson, finished in ninth place with 7.59 percent of the vote. Rounding out the field were the two other candidates with the Kids Education First team. Fredrick Dande took 10th place with 5.65 percent of the vote and Brunia Pilet finished in 11th place with 4.62 percent.
