Cast your vote in the 21st Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival

The event will be held at the Burlington County Library.

Join movie buffs from around the world to view the 21st Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival finalists and cast your vote for your favorite at the Burlington County Library.

A special screening of the nine finalists will be held on Sept. 28 at 6 p.m., and again on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. in the library auditorium in Westampton. Adults and teens are welcome to attend and admission is free.

Manhattan Short is the only event of its kind and the 2018 finalists are being screened simultaneously around the world — at more than 350 venues across six continents — from Sept. 27 to Oct. 7. At each screening, audience members will be handed ballot cards to cast their votes for the Best Film and Best Actor awards.

This year’s finalists represent an extraordinary range of film genres including: intimate dramas, fast-paced animation, spine-tingling tales, a World War II epic, a film shot entirely underwater and a comedy. By virtue of their selection by Manhattan Short, each film will be Oscar-qualified, meaning they will be automatically eligible for an Academy Award nomination.

The nine films from Austria, Canada, Germany, Hungary, Kosovo, New Zealand, USA and two from the United Kingdom, were chosen from among 1,565 submissions from 73 countries, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films.

The Burlington County Library screening will run about two hours. (Please note: the films may contain content and language not suitable for children.) Audience votes will be forwarded to Manhattan Short headquarters and the winners will be announced on Oct 8.

The library is located on Pioneer Boulevard off Woodlane Road in Westampton. For more information about the library screenings, please call (609) 267–9660 or visit www.bcls.lib.nj.us
