The remembrance and thanksgiving ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9
St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Cherry Hill will be conducting its annual remembrance and thanksgiving service at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.
The service is to remember and pray for those who died on Sept. 11, 2001, and to give thanks to the heroes involved. Attendees will also honor the first responders from Cherry Hill and other nearby communities. This is the fourth year the church has held the service, which is open to the public.
Invited guests include the Cherry Hill mayor, county officials, fire and police chiefs and clergy. Neighbors, families and friends are also welcome.
The Cherry Hill Fire Department, EMTs and police department will supply a representative squad and equipment in the church parking lot by 8:30 a.m. for interviews and a blessing by our rector. A procession of clergy, an honor guard of police and firefighters and Boy Scoot Troup 170 will be led to the lawn adjacent to the church for an “open air” service.
Remarks will be given by Rabbi Rayna Grossman. A reception, open to all, will follow in the Parish Hall.
