The department will use social media to give the Evesham community a glimpse of what the department’s officers experience during patrol.
The Evesham Township Police Department is inviting its social media followers to ride along with the department on July 27 from 6 p.m. to midnight, as Chief of Police Christopher Chew uses social media to give the Evesham community a glimpse of what the department’s officers experience during a normal patrol shift.
According to officials, the ETPD virtual ride-along will follow calls during the evening shift, tweeting information about the calls for service, along with pictures and videos of the officers at work.
Social media followers will be able to follow the officers in real time as if they were in the front seat of the patrol car.
Through the use of the virtual ride along program, officials say the department hopes to enhance public transparency and to continue to build partnerships with the Evesham community.
Officials say the program will also provide an inside view of the officers who serve the Evesham community each and every day.
