Weekly Roundup: Another fire flares in Erial, body found in Gloucester Township Lake

Two vehicle crash involving police vehicle with injuries

A car accident on the Black Horse Pike involving a GTPD vehicle unfolded last weekend. Upon arrival of other officers, it was determined that a Gloucester Township Police Officer and the sole occupant of the second vehicle were evaluated at the scene and complained of injuries.

Parts of Salina Road will be reduced to 35 mph

At its latest meeting, Gloucester Township Council changed the speed limit to 35 mph along Salina Road. This would affect an intersection with a private lane almost 3,000 feet west of Woodbury-Turnersville Road. From that intersection to Blackwood-Mt. Pleasant Road, the speed limit will remain at 45 mph. Also, the traffic zone outside of St. Teresa Regional School could be reduced to 25 mph.

Fire damages three unoccupied townhomes in Gloucester Township

An early-morning fire unfolded on Iran Gate Road on Tuesday. Fire departments from Gloucester Township districts 83, 84, 85 and 86, along with Pine Hill and Winslow Township, responded to the scene. However, this is the fifth in a series of suspicious fires that broke out in this area. Police are seeking any assistance in finding a possible suspect.

Body found in Scenic Point Circle area

Early Wednesday morning, GTPD found a deceased body in the water at Scenic Point Circle. Investigation is ongoing at this time and is currently being investigated by the Camden County Prosecutors Office and the Gloucester Township Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit.

Teen entrepreneur starts nonprofit organization to benefit millennials

Quandell Iglesia opened two businesses before he turned 18-years-old. In his third act, he wanted to give back to his generation. His latest creation, SNJ Millennials, is based on three pillars: Support, Mentor and Volunteer.
