Cherry Hill teen to play at world famous golf course thanks to gift from Round of a Lifetime

Cherry Hill’s Kevin Rickansrud admits he was crushed when he was diagnosed with an enlarged aortic root at the age of 13, forcing him to stop playing some of his favorite sports. Three years later, Kevin has found a new passion for the game of golf and is about to go on a journey unlike any other. Kevin was selected to receive an all-expenses paid trip to play golf at Pinehurst, N.C. from an organization named Round of a Lifetime.

Playground upgrades in the works for Cherry Hill Township

Several parks and playgrounds are in the process of being revamped in Cherry Hill Township. The township discussed plans to upgrade several of its parks in the coming weeks. Jeremy Kane Park, Woodland Park, Gregory Dalessio Park and Ashland Park will all have ribbon-cutting ceremonies revealing a specific theme. The first ceremony will take place on Tuesday at Jeremy Kane Park.

Memorial Day workout at Cherry Hill Fire Department raises money for foundation

Memorial Day is not a day off for a number of Cherry Hill firefighters and police officers. For the fifth straight year, the Cherry Hill Fire Department is serving as an official host of The Murph Challenge, an event where participants perform a strenuous workout to raise money for the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation. The workout is done wearing a 20-pound vest or body armor.

Cherry Hill Police arrest man for breaking into vehicle on Old Salem Road

A tip from a resident helped Cherry Hill Police catch a man who was breaking into a vehicle along Old Salem Road in the township. Cherry Hill Police arrested 29-year-old Alex Walker of Camden and charged him with numerous counts of burglary from motor vehicles as well as theft, and eluding arrest after he was caught rummaging through the center console of a vehicle.

Cherry Hill Police to participate in Click It or Ticket

Cherry Hill Police and other departments across the state will be kicking off a new campaign on Monday. Click It or Ticket will kick off on May 21 and run through June 3. During this time, police officers will be cracking down on unbuckled motorists and passengers through high visibility law enforcement seat belt checkpoints and saturation patrols as well as publicity designed to ensure that drivers and passengers recognize the life-saving value of seat belts.
