Officials say the department is commending Officer Jared Halpern for his investigative skills and commitment to making the township safe.

The Evesham Township Police Department (ETPD) has announced Officer Jared Halpern as the department’s “Officer of the Month” for March 2018.
Officials say the department is commending Officer Jared Halpern for his investigative skills and commitment to making the township safe.
Police have highlighted two specific incidents involving Halpern from March.
On March 4, police say Halpern conducted an investigation into suspicious activity in the area of Fox Chase and Magnolia Court.
As a result of his investigation, police say developed probable cause to believe narcotics activity was occurring. As Halpern completed a search of the involved vehicles, police say seized “a large quantity” of raw marijuana, drug paraphernalia and marijuana edibles.
Police say Halpern made two arrests and learned through his investigation that the marijuana and edibles were intended to be sold to local youths.
On March 7, police say Halpern was working during a heavy snow storm that caused treacherous roadway conditions.
According to police, Halpern came upon a scene at the Route 73 overpass where numerous vehicles had become stuck on the overpass, causing traffic to become stopped. As such, police say the traffic rapidly backed up and the overpass needed to be shut down, with traffic diverted for the stuck vehicles.
Police say Halpern manually dug dozens of stuck vehicles out of the snow while fielding endless comments and questions from frustrated motorists.
According to police, Halpern was professional and polite during each interaction as he spent more than an hour and a half in the elements as he was able to get the traffic flowing again.
Police say Halpern has been a member of the department for 13 years.
