Haddonfield American Legion Post 38 will host its 78th annual Last Man’s Dinner on Monday, April 2 at Tavistock Country Club. The event begins with a social hour cash bar at 6 p.m. hour with the program commencing promptly at 7 p.m.
Each year, the Last Man’s Club of the Haddonfield American Legion Post 38 conducts the Last Man’s Dinner to honor the veterans who have served our country in the past as well today’s active duty personnel. All members of Post 38 are members of the Last Man’s Club and are on the Charter for the war in which they served. The Last Man’s Dinner was created to preserve the memories of our wars, to pay fitting tribute to our departed comrades, to foster and perpetuate good fellowship and to eat, drink and be merry. To our knowledge, we are the only New Jersey American Legion Post which has perpetuated this tradition.
Tickets will be $45 per person which covers a prime-rib dinner and valet parking. As usual our goal is to move the program along smartly and conclude the formal program by 9 p.m. We hope that you and your friends will attend this great event.
Attendees will receive a copy of the “2018 Last Man’s Dinner Program” which will include Post 38’s Blue Star List which includes members of the community who are serving on active duty, information about members who have died in the past year, ads from supporters and other patriotic information.
Those who wish to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets without delay. For information on tickets, go on the Post 38 website http://h-a-s.org/al38/home.html or call the Last Man’s Club Chair, Tom Baird (609) 923–1442.
