Fatal crash under investigation

Anyone with information on the March 15 motor vehicle accident is urged to contact officer Michael Gabbianelli.

On the afternoon of March 15, numerous 911 calls were made regarding a motor vehicle crash reported near the Star Motel.

Monroe Township Police Department officers, along with Monroe Township EMS, Cecil Fire Company and the Williamstown Fire Department, were dispatched.

MTPD officers arrived to find a vehicle off the road and the driver heavily entrapped. Medical care was being administered by Monroe EMS, while members of the Fire Department began extrication efforts.

Traffic investigators determined that the vehicle was traveling westbound on the Black Horse Pike and began to drift off the road near the 3000 block.

Approximately 100 feet later, the vehicle struck a pole and shortly afterwards began to roll and struck a tree. The vehicle came to a final rest entangled in trees.

Despite rescue efforts by EMS and fire services, the driver, Kenneth Jackson, of Williamstown, succumbed to his injuries on scene. The crash is being investigated by Police Officer Michael Gabbianelli.

If anyone has information regarding the crash, call (856) 728–9800, or email [email protected].
