Residents continue to seek answers on affordable housing

At the Monday, Feb. 26 meeting of Moorestown Township Council, housing concerns were the talk of the night as residents asked for more information regarding Moorestown’s affordable housing obligation. Mayor Stacey Jordan said the impact on the school district has been an ongoing part of their discussions and something they have taken into consideration throughout their ongoing negotiations. Township Manager Thomas Merchel said they did plan on coordinating a with the school meeting. “Once all the numbers are out to the public, then I’ll meet with the superintendent,” Merchel said.

Moorestown Creates fostering a community of artists

In late November, the Moorestown Township Planning Board formally recognized Moorestown Creates as a subcommittee of the Sustainable Moorestown Green Team. Today, Moorestown Creates is working on new ways for artists to share both their work and experiences with other people in town who share their interests. “The whole concept of Moorestown Creates is to take the groups and individual artists in town and bring them together,” Wardzinski said.

Moorestown rotarian recognized for her heart

Kathleen Hiltner was selected by the Rotary District 7500 Gift of Life Foundation to receive its Gift of Life Michael Award. Each year, the award recognizes a rotarian who is actively involved in Gift of Life. Hiltner was recognized for spearheading the Moorestown Rotary’s initiative, which brought Gift of Life to the Philippines. Gift of Life is a global nonprofit that provides free medical services as well as equipment to children with heart diseases in developing countries. Hiltner said she was first exposed to the organization in the early 90s when she came to serve as Rotary district governor.
