National Weather service issues flood advisory, Gloucester Co. included

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly issued a flood advisory on March 2 for many New Jersey counties including Gloucester:

FLOOD ADVISORY FOR… NORTHEASTERN NEW CASTLE COUNTY IN NORTHERN DELAWARE… NORTHERN OCEAN COUNTY INSOUTHERN NEW JERSEY… CAMDEN COUNTY IN SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY… GLOUCESTER COUNTY IN SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY… BURLINGTON COUNTY IN SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY… MONMOUTH COUNTY IN CENTRAL NEW JERSEY…

UNTIL 1245 PM EST

AT 844 AM EST…DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED TO FALL ACROSS MUCH OF THE ADVISORY AREA. SEVERAL SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS HAVE HAD RAPID RISES THIS MORNING AND MINOR FLOODING WILL BE COMMON ACROSS POOR DRAINAGE, LOW LYING, AND MORE URBANIZED AREAS. UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE AREA. WITH ADDITIONAL RAINFALL EXPECTED FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS, MINOR FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT COULD EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE… TOMS RIVER, CAMDEN, VINELAND, LONG BRANCH,ASBURY PARK, GLOUCESTER CITY, SANDY HOOK, LAKEWOOD, CHERRY HILL, MIDDLETOWN, OLD BRIDGE, JACKSON, HOWELL, EVESHAM, MOUNT LAUREL, MARLBORO, MANALAPAN, CHESTER AND WILLINGBORO.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED…OR PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT
