Evesham Green Team to host showing of documentary film ‘Bag it’ at Evesham Library on Feb. 25

The film examines America’s use of plastic bags and the effect plastic can have on the environment.

The Evesham Green Team is inviting residents to join the team for a showing of the documentary film “Bag It.”

According to the team, the film follows “everyman” Jeb Berrier as he navigates today’s “plastic world.”

Berrier is described as an average American who decided to take a closer look at the country’s “cultural love affair” with plastics. Through Berrier’s journey in the documentary, he asks questions such as “Are plastic bags really necessary?” and “What are plastic bags made from?” and “What happens to plastic bags after they are discarded?”

According to the Green Team, Americans use 60,000 plastic bags every five minutes, which are throw away. But the Green Team asks, where is “away?” The team asks residents to consider where do the bags and other plastics end up, and at what cost to the environment, marine life and human health?

Learn more at the event on Sunday, Feb. 25, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Evesham Library.

This event is recommended for adults of any age, teens, and children 8 years of age and older.
