Potential victims of identity or account theft are encouraged to file a report and monitor their bank accounts

On Jan. 26, Medford Township police received information that an unauthorized electronic “skimming device” was presently installed onto an ATM machine at the Wawa located on State Highway 70 in Medford. The incident occurred at 8:53 a.m. Investigators located and removed the unauthorized device from the machine.

At this time, investigators are unsure if anyone has had their accounts compromised. Additionally, it has not been determined when this device was installed, or if there have been any previous unauthorized skimming devices on these machines.

If anyone believes they’re a victim, or thinks that their identity or accounts have been compromised, please contact the Medford Township Police Department and file a report. The MTPD is located at 91 Union Street. Additionally, anyone who has used these machines are encouraged to monitor their bank accounts.
