School district identifies security, roofs and other health and safety items as top priority in upcoming bond referendum
The Cherry Hill Board of Education’s strategic planning committee dug deeper into possible 2018 bond referendum projects during its meeting on Wednesday. Assistant Superintendent for Business Lynn Shugars talked about what district officials felt were some of the most essential projects to include. Some of the items were security upgrades, new roofs and asbestos abatement.
Snowstorm blankets Cherry Hill, surrounding region
Much of Cherry Hill Township was at a standstill on Thursday as a snow storm hit the area. Cherry Hill Public Schools, Cherry Hill Township, the Cherry Hill Public Library and more were closed on Thursday due to the weather. The school district also had a delayed opening on Friday due to icy conditions. The nearest National Weather Service snow estimate in Haddon Heights said the area received 4.6 inches of snow.
No changes to the Cherry Hill Board of Education in 2018
The Cherry Hill Board of Education will remain the same as 2018 as the board chose to retain J. Barry Dickinson as president and Eric Goodwin as vice president. The board elected the two to those positions at its organization meeting on Wednesday. At the meeting, Goodwin, Carol Matlack and Lisa Saidel were also sworn in to new, three-year terms following their re-election win last November.
Cherry Hill Police look to identify theft suspect
Cherry Hill Police are on the lookout for a suspect who is thought to have recently committed a theft at the Cherry Hill Walmart. Surveillance photos of the female suspect were released on social media Tuesday. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact Det.
