GCLS to host free grant-funded programs for job seekers

A variety of free programs will take place from Jan. 9 through March 8.

The Gloucester County Library System is offering free programs for job seekers taking place from Jan. 9 through March 8 at various library branches.

“The employment application process is constantly changing and modernizing and is very different from what it used to be,” Freeholder Director Robert Damminger said. “These programs are designed to help all members of our community gain an understanding of how the process is done in today’s world.”

“By offering these programs, the Gloucester County Library System is offering residents a chance to learn a more modern way of applying for a job from representatives from career planning at Rowan College at Gloucester County,” said Freeholder Lyman Barnes, liaison to the Gloucester County Library System and the Department of Education.

Programs will be presented by Steph Lanza and Stephen Sweeney of the Career Advancement and Planning Center at RCGC and include classes such as the basics of job searching, modern resume writing, interviewing skills and networking and job fairs.

For dates and locations for the programs, visit the calendar at www.gcls.org. Registration is required for all programs and can be done via phone at (856) 223–6000, or online.

These programs are funded through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor Division of Workforce Development, administered by the Gloucester County Library System in partnership with Rowan College at Gloucester County.
