WTHS Air Force JROTC cadets help give rescued dogs a Christmas miracle

The cadets helped unload more than 300 puppies and dogs, rescued fromĀ Georgia

Members of the Washington Township High School Air Force Junior ROTC program pose after assisting Animal Aid USA volunteers with the transfer of 300 puppies and dogs in Swedesboro, N.J.

Cadets from the Washington Township High School Air Force Junior ROTC program recently helped unload more than 300 puppies and dogs, rescued from Georgia and transported to Swedesboro, receive a Christmas miracle through their volunteer service in support of the Animal Aid USA organization.

WTHS senior Megan Frazier rallied the support of her fellow cadets at the start of the school year in the service project. The cadets spent time transferring the animals off the transport truck, uniting several families on site with their new pets and loading up other vehicles with pets that will stay in area shelters until they areĀ adopted.

The groupā€™s work on Dec. 17 marked their fourth time in assisting with area pet transfers.

ā€œThe work of the WTHS JROTC cadets, who have been coming every month to help off load an average of 300 puppies and dogs through our organization, has been outstanding,ā€ said Diane Frazier of the Animal Aid USA organization. ā€œIā€™m really pleased to get to know these young men andĀ women.ā€
