Winter Weather Advisory for South Jersey

More snow will fall until 9 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service

More snow could fall in Burlington County today as the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of South Jersey. The advisory will be in effect from 1 to 9 p.m. on Friday.

In response to the advisory, Freeholder Deputy Director Kate Gibbs announced today that the County Health Department, in concurrence with the County Office of Emergency Management, has extended the current Code Blue Weather Emergency until 9 a.m. Saturday due to the extreme cold temperatures forecasted today and overnight.

The National Weather Service said snow is expected to fall this afternoon and early this evening. Residents should plan on slippery road conditions, including during the evening commute. Total snow accumulations of one to three inches are expected. Reduced visibilities are also possible.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
