Obituary: Carolyn Piro

A mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

Carolyn Piro (nee Faust) passed away on Dec. 11 at the age 90 of in Moorestown. Carolyn grew up in the Lansdale section of Philadelphia and attended Notre Dame Academy. She achieved her bachelors degree with honors from University of Pennsylvania in 1999 at the age of 72.

Carolyn was an accomplished artist and bridge player. She was an active member of the Cooper Hospital Woman’s Auxiliary and volunteered regularly in the Cooper NICU.

Carolyn loved to travel, from the pyramids of Egypt to the Panama Cana. She shared the world with her partner in love and life, Phil. Carolyn was an avid Villanova Wildcats fan, having been married in 1951 on campus and having five children and four grandchildren go on to attend Villanova.

Most significantly, Carolyn was a beautiful woman inside and out who cared deeply for her community, her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

She was the loving wife of 66 years of Philip A Piro and mother of Phil (Marion), Lisa Mark (Tony), Stephen (Linda), Michael, Mark,(Amy), Paul (Jane) and Carolyn. Carolyn was also the grandmother of 16.

A mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church located at: 42 W. Main St. in Moorestown.

The private interment will take place at Brigadier William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr Marlton, NJ 08053.
