The Task Force’s first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 7
Washington Township Superintendent of Schools Joe Bollendorf invites members of the community to participate in an important conversation on school climate and safety as members of the district’s 2017–18 Safe and Substance-Free Schools Task Force.
The goals of this task force are to provide information to the school district and community that will assist in fostering safe and substance-free learning environments to students; to deliver proactive strategies to eliminate school violence and bullying; and to offer assistance in training adults to inspire, equip and empower students to affect permanent, positive change.
The task force will meet on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in the boardroom of the Eileen Abbott Central Administration Building, located at 206 E. Holly Avenue, Sewell, to discuss new secondary-level programming initiatives to address the area opioid crisis and a presentation of the newly reinstated D.A.R.E. program at the elementary level. The evening will also include a review of new security upgrades in the district.
Community members who are interested in becoming members of the Safe and Substance-Free Schools Task Force are invited to contact Debbie McKie at (856) 589–6644, ext. 6401, or via email at [email protected].
