Harrison Township Committee voted to finalize redevelopment PILOT agreements, while also designating the Mullica Hill Baptist Church as the location for the 9/11 Memorial site at last week’s meeting. Also, local Pleasant Valley School student Paige Worrell earned her first crown as the New Jersey Preteen National Teenager 2017. Mullica Hill youth named NJ Preteen National Teenager 2017

Pleasant Valley School sixth-grader Paige Worrell, 11, is an animal whisperer, a sister, a cheerleader and now, the New Jersey Preteen National Teenager 2017. On Monday, Nov. 20, Paige and her mom Tracy flew to Houston, Texas, for the national competition where Paige took the stage for the first time against fellow preteens from across the country for the crown.

Committee finalizes PILOT agreements with commercial redevelopment properties

Harrison Township Committee authorized two Payment in Lieu of Taxes agreements on second reading at last week’s meeting. The financial agreements will be based on the final property assessments for the new Mullica Hill Surgical Arts Urban Renewal Entity, LLC being built on Clems Run Road and the Route 322 Bypass, as well as the redevelopment of Naples Ristorante.

Mullica Hill Branch Library receives new sculpture

A sculpture, titled “Be Still,” now resides in the beautiful atrium at the center of the Mullica Hill Branch of the Gloucester County Library System. On Sunday, Nov. 12, the Friends of the Gloucester County Library System hosted a dedication ceremony for the artwork that was created especially for the library by sculptor Dan Dennison. In attendance were friends and family of Dennison, Friends members, library staff and the general public.
