The West Jersey Chamber Music Society kicks off its season on Oct. 22.
The West Jersey Chamber Music Society begins its 38th Season of bringing music to Southern New Jersey with “The Art of the Baroque Concerto” on Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
For 38 years the West Jersey Chamber Music Society has been bringing classical music performed by world-class musicians to audiences throughout Southern New Jersey. Those same musicians who also perform in major orchestras and chorales in Philadelphia and New York, including Carnegie Hall, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Concerto Soloists, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Academy of Vocal Arts and Opera Philadelphia..
This year the society will offer, for the first time, complimentary “Bring-A-Friend” tickets with each subscription purchased and a children free promotion.
“We would like to expand our audiences to more people and give them the chance to experience our excellent music in the hope that they will keep coming back,” said Joel Krott. “Allowing two children free with each adult will make our concerts more affordable to young families.”
The Baroque period was a time when new ideas transformed the arts and music conveyed deep emotions and spiritual affirmation. In the first concert of the season, the Art of the Baroque Concerto, these musicians, under the baton of Music Director, Joel Krott, will perform concertos from JS Bach, Vivaldi and Telemann, including the Concerto for two violins in d Minor, Concerto for flute in F major and the Concerto Grosso in E major.
All concerts take place in the welcoming sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church located at 101 Bridgeboro Road in Moorestown. The concert venue is wheel chair accessible and ADA compliant, and ushers are available for extra help.
