BHMS science class adopts Texas classroom affected by Hurricane Harvey

The sixth-grade students donated supplies to students and families in need

Bunker Hill Middle School sixth-graders in Julie Lyons’ class pose around many of the supplies they have donated to Hurricane Harvey victims in Texas.

Bunker Hill Middle School sixth-grade science students in Julie Lyons’ class recently decided they wanted to help students their age — and their families — at a school affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

The class adopted an eighth-grade classroom in Dickinson, TX. And while that school was not heavily damaged, most of the students’ homes were. BHMS students donated book bags, binders, notebooks, staplers, markers, crayons, pens and other school supplies.
