Superintendent visits Rotary, talks future of the district

At the last meeting of the Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club, Scott P. McCartney, Moorestown Township Superintendent of Schools, spoke about getting involved with the district.

Dr. Scott P. McCartney, Moorestown Township Superintendent of Schools was introduced by Moorestown Rotary Breakfast Club member and newly appointed State Board of Education member, Mrs. Kathy Goldenberg at the club’s last meeting on Sept. 27.

Dr. McCartney, while entering his second year as Superintendent of the Moorestown Township Public Schools has been in education for 26 years and has served as a Superintendent of Schools since 2001.

At the meeting, Dr. McCartney shared the district’s goals for 2017–2018 around innovation, targeted instruction and social and emotional learning. He shared several ways members of the club could engage with the schools including the district’s advertising banner program and naming opportunities.

McCartney concluded his presentation by announcing that the Moorestown Unified Basketball Team was recently notified of their selection to represent New Jersey in the Special Olympics USA Games this summer in Seattle, Washington.
