Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio has announced that the county’s next paper shredding event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, at Rowan College at Burlington County’s Mt. Laurel Campus.
“The Freeholder Board is proud to host another shredding event at Rowan College at Burlington County’s Mt. Laurel campus to offer residents the opportunity to dispose of their confidential documents at a convenient location and continue to expand recycling,” Garganio said. “We have seen a tremendous turnout so far this year, with 4,104 residents utilizing our services to recycle 150,608 pounds of confidential documents.”
According to the county, residents are urged to bring only “confidential” documents for shredding, such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, papers with account numbers or social security numbers. They will be shredded on-site. No binders, plastic folders, computer disks or plastic credit cards will be accepted. Up to four bags or boxes per car will be accepted. Already-shredded paper can also be recycled at this event.
“With a large turnout expected, we are reminding residents that there is a limit of 4 boxes or bags. This will allow us to serve as many residents as possible,” Garganio said. “Additionally, this event may end prior to 1 p.m. if shredding trucks reach full capacity.”
Dates and locations for additional shredding events will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Residents are reminded that they can download “Recycle Coach,” an innovative mobile app designed to make recycling even easier.
