Cherokee High School students named commended students in 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program

Commended students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition.

Nine Cherokee High School students were recently named commended students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program

Cherokee High School is proud to announce the following students were named commended students: Alexis Bickett, Rebecca Daly, Kelly He, Sophia Hirshfield, Lauren Johnston, Nikhil Kadirisani, Risheet Nair, Kunal Patel and Lana Tonzello

Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) recently announced the names of the approximate 34,000 Commended Students who are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

Although these students will not continue in the 2018 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, commended students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
