Letter to the Editor: “Storms”

In light of recent natural disasters, love will always come through.

The following was submitted by Christina Dutcher of Voorhees Township:

As we look at our world, seeing events unfold, the planet seems as if it is becoming unraveled, with storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, fires. Like monsters to children we can feel afraid, reaching for someone to tell us it’s not real, expecting an answer and not getting the one we want. These are times when we need to sink our feet down deeper than the unstable ground and think of the word “Resilience”. What is the one thing that comes out of these tragic events? Even more than just the earth storm events, personal events that are trying our very soul, the answer is love. Love comes through. Love in neighbors helping neighbors, families standing stronger together, volunteers helping people, service men and women diving in deep to rescue, clean up, and nurse the wounds. This is all born out of love, and love heals all wounds. Events will pass, places will be rebuilt, we will all be changed, and if we allow it, we will be stronger than any storm.
