MooreUnity hosting parenting discussion on embracing people with special needs

On Monday, Sept. 18, MooreUnity is hosting a panel to help parents teach their children how to interact with compassion when they meet people with developmental disabilities.

MooreUnity, a civic group whose mission is to embrace diversity and facilitate unity, is hosting a parenting discussion titled “Embracing Special People: How to Talk to Your Child about People with Developmental Disabilities” on Monday, Sept. 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This discussion is for parents searching for advice on how to help their children interact with compassion when they meet people who have developmental disabilities.

The group will have a panel of experts — including parents of special needs children — who can answer questions and share what it’s like for their children to navigate the world when faced with additional challenges.

This free event will be casual and open to question and answers as well as discussion. It will be held at The Knowles Teacher Initiative Facility located at 1000 N. Church Street in Moorestown.

Doors open at 6:45, and space is limited to about 50 participants. Questions may be posed to Karen Reiner at (856)701–5784.
