21st Woofstock festival is set for Sept. 23 at John Connolly Park

The signature event is the Voorhees Animal Orphanage’s largest annual fundraiser.

Jennifer Bailey of the Voorhees Animal Orphanage pets a dog occupying one of the shelter’s 65 kennels.

Plans for the first Woofstock started 21 years ago.

Originally, it was a very small event held on the front lawn of the shelter with a few vendors and light attendance. Years ago, the VAO branched out, moving the festival to John Connolly Park.

Woofstock is a huge outdoor festival geared towards families and pets. It features music, dog demonstrations, gourmet food trucks, a raffle basket pavilion, an alumni parade and special guests, such as the Joseph Ferko String Band, Master Chef Joe Poon and Dr. Elizabeth Severino, an animal Communicator.

In 2016, 4,000 people attended the 20th annual event. The festival included 100 craft and retail vendors, as well as 30 local animal rescue group, which broke previous years’ records.

The VAO hopes to break those records again.

Sponsor and Vendor registrations are open. Access to the forms can be retrieved on these links:
