Cinnaminson’s Maddie Ogden, a competitor on the field and in the classroom

For some high school athletes, the drive to be successful in one varsity sport is tough. The road to be successful in multiple sports can be even tougher to balance with a slew of other priorities in their lives. Cinnaminson High School rising junior Maddie Ogden is a two-sport varsity athlete for the Pirates, excelling in basketball and soccer. On the pitch, Ogden is the starting goalkeeper for the Pirates, who finished 19–3–2 a season ago. Ogden had 16 shutouts, a school record, and was an all-conference selection in the Burlington County Liberty Division.

Cinnaminson Township Public Schools excited for start of a new school year

It’s that time again … the packing of lunches, the sharpening of pencils, and the ringing of school bells. Cinnaminson Township Public Schools opens its doors on Sept. 5 for the first day for all students. It will be an exciting start for the district, especially for Superintendent Stephen Cappello. Cappello will start his first full year as superintendent after joining the district in 2016. Cappello started his role beginning on July 1, is also a member of the Medford Board of Education and serves on the board of directors for the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. He was the director of curriculum and instruction for Cinnaminson Township Public Schools prior to being named superintendent.

Cookout with Cops taking place on September 16 at Wood Park

From 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Wood Park, come on out and meet the officers of the Cinnaminson Police Department. Collect all the police cards from each officer. Bring your bike to the “Bike Rodeo” safety course with the CPD Bike Patrol. Have your bicycle inspected for safety courtesy of of Mr. Bill’s Bicycles! Enjoy Dunk A Cop, food, inflatables, fun and much more. Stick around for “Cinema Under the Stars” where the Lego Batman movie will be shown at 8 p.m.

Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio Announces FREE Shredding Event September 10

Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced today that the Freeholder’s next paper shredding event will be held on Sunday, September 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex located at 22000 Burlington-Columbus Rd, Florence, NJ. “We are happy to continue to offer these events which help residents reduce the risk of identity theft and continue to expand recycling, and hope that everyone takes advantage of this wonderful service,” said Freeholder Director Garganio. “Last year saw much success, with 4,828 residents utilizing our services to recycle an impressive 184,000 pounds of confidential documents.”
