Freeholder Linda Hughes urges Local Arts Groups to Apply for Grant Funding

“Aimed at making the arts an affordable and integral part of the community, these grant dollars are offered by Burlington County in partnership with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts through the Local Arts Program,” said Freeholder Linda Hughes.

Burlington County Freeholder Linda Hughes announced today that local non-profit arts organizations and community groups that offer arts programming to county residents are invited to apply for 2018 grant funding.

“Aimed at making the arts an affordable and integral part of the community, these grant dollars are offered by Burlington County in partnership with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts through the Local Arts Program,” said Freeholder Linda Hughes.

“First-time applicants may be eligible for grants up to $1,000 each, and organizations that have a prior grant history with Burlington County may be eligible for grants up to $8,000 each. All grant awards require matching applicant funds,” added Freeholder Hughes.

The funding may be used for arts-related activities conducted between Jan 1 and Dec. 31, 2018.

“A free workshop focusing on the application process is scheduled on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery located at 803 Smithville Road in Eastampton. Any organization applying for funding for the first time will be required to have a representative attend. Attendance is also highly recommended for organizations that have received funding in the past,” concluded Freeholder Hughes.

The Notice of Intent to Apply must be filed by Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. The Notice of Intent to Apply form, which must be mailed, emailed, or faxed to the Burlington County Division of Parks, as well as the grant application and guidelines, are available by clicking the ad about the Arts Grant Workshop located on the county website at http://www.co.burlington.nj.us/1346/Arts-Culture.
