A new stone age: Painted rocks spark creativity, excitement for Mullica Hill families
With the help of her daughter and niece, resident Kimberly Keller started the growing Facebook page “Mullica Hill Rocks.” The social media group, which began at the beginning of the summer with just five members, has grown to more than 200 subscribers, posting photos of rocks found throughout the township and sharing hints of where to find their own rock art. The group aims to get children out of the house and interacting with their hometown, as well as sparking creativity with paint.
Summer Soiree funds downtown beautification
Native residents and newcomers alike are invited to get a “taste of Mullica Hill” at the annual Summer Soiree on Sunday, Aug. 13. The event, hosted by Harrison Township Beautification begins at 4 p.m., where friends, neighbors and local businesses gather in the “meticulous” gardens and gazebo at the historic Spicer House to socialize, eat and drink. Tickets are available for $40 at www.harrison-twp-beautification.ticketleap.com.
Three candidates running for three seats on Harrison Township Board of Education
Incumbent Board of Education members Stacey Muscarella, Cristie Clark and Shannon Williams will be running for re-election unopposed for the Harrison Township School District Board of Education. In the Clearview Regional High School District, Gregory Fuller will run unopposed for a seat on the board. The three-year term positions will be put to a public vote alongside the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
