Palmyra Police Department prepping for third annual National Night Out

National Night Out has been a growing phenomenon across the United States since its beginning in 1984. Since 2015, the Borough of Palmyra has been participating in this country-wide event, which will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the Palmyra Community Center. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighbor camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

BYOB Comedy Show coming to Palmyra Harbour on Aug 26

Looking to end your summer with a laugh? Then come on out to the Palmyra Harbour on August 26 from a BYOB Comedy Show. Starting at 8 p.m. the Comedy Show will also feature the likes of w/ Mark Riccadonna (22 USO Tours for the Troops and writer for SNL’s Weekend Update). Headlining the show will be actor and comedian Kevin Farley. Farley has appeared in movies such as Joe Dirt, Eight Crazy Nights, Dude Where’s My Dog, and many more. Palmyra resident recognized by Kennedy Health

Kennedy Health proudly announced its Associates of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2017 and fourth quarter of 2016. Joan Salton of Palmyra, who is a Health Information Services Coordinator working in the Medical Records department was chosen as the winner in the fourth quarter of 2016. Salton works at Kennedy University Hospital in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Bethany Lutheran Church explores promises in this summer’s VBS

Bethany Lutheran Church will host “God’s Promises” themed program from Aug 7 to Aug 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children ages 4 to 12 years old are invited to join in a week of activities designed to foster growth in friendship, faith and service. Participants will learn about God’s promises through Bible storytelling, arts and crafts, music and special projects. The program is free to attend. The church will be collecting food donations for the Bread of Life food pantry which serves local families in need.
