Burlington County Sheriff Jean Stanfield has announced that the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department has received three “Fido Bags” for its K-9 teams as a donation from the Fetch Foundation.

“The Fido Bags will be used for our two explosive detection K-9’s Niko and Scottie along with our new drug detection K-9 Ringo,” Stanfield said.

Stanfield said Niko, Scottie and Ringo are at risk of injury while working out in the field, and having the right equipment on hand is necessary to ensuring their safety.

“Thanks to the generosity of the Fetch Foundation, our officers will now be equipped with first aid kits in the event of any emergency, and better able to protect our K-9’s from harm,” Stanfield said.

The Fido Bags include oxygen masks designed to fit canines. Additional first aid items include specialized burn sheets, bandages, rinsing saline, protective restraints, and other items for K-9 emergency care.

“Our K-9’s and their handlers put their lives on the line keeping our residents safe,” Stanfield said. “We are proud to be able to equip our four-legged officers with these first aid bags so that they may remain safe during their mission to keep others safe.”

The three Fido Bags were donated to the Sheriff’s Department by the Fetch Foundation. The Fetch Foundation is a charity based out of Scottsdale, Ariz. dedicated to saving lives in the animal and human communities through strategies and unique programs that support, equip, and train first responders.
