Lutheran Crossings celebrating 70 years

On Wednesday, June 21, Lutheran Crossings at Moorestown will kick off a year-long celebration to recognize their 70-year milestone.

On Wednesday, June 21, Lutheran Crossings at Moorestown, an assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation care community, will celebrate its 70th birthday of caring for the community with a party. The facility’s residents and families, employees, volunteers and ladies’ Auxiliary will celebrate the event on the front lawn of its campus. Lutheran Crossings’ actual 70th birthday is Thursday, June 22. The birthday party on Wednesday will kick off a year-long celebration to recognize this important milestone.

The celebration will begin with a blessing promptly at 1:30 p.m., and the party that follows will include refreshments under the party tent, music, dancing, lawn games, a balloon artist, Rita’s Water Ice tent and Lutheran Crossings trivia and memorabilia.

As part of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ), a mission-driven nonprofit social service organization, Lutheran Crossings provides a continuum of care tailored to meet each resident’s individual needs. First known as the Lutheran Home, its campus is filled with a rich heritage that dates back long before its 1947 opening as a home for the aged. The original building, Breidenhart Castle, is located on the front of the Lutheran Crossings’ campus. This Moorestown landmark carries some of its own incredible history with previous renowned homeowners such as Samuel Leeds Allen, inventor of the Flexible Flyer sled, and Eldridge R. Johnson, inventor of the Victor Talking Machine.

Additional upcoming 70th birthday community events will be posted on the Lutheran Crossings website at www.lutherancrossings.org, and on its Facebook page. For additional information about Lutheran Crossings Enhanced Living at Moorestown, please visit www.lutherancrossings.org.
