Do Something: Fun weekend events in and around Palmyra

In Palmyra

Around South Jersey

  • The CHAI Community Development Corporation will host Freedom Day 2017 on Saturday in Burlington City. The event will take place at the Riverfront Promenade, 127 East Pearl Street, from 2 to 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy music, food, games, crafts, vendors, a kids zone and more.   • Monster trucks will roar into South Jersey this weekend as Miller Farms LLC hosts a three-day monster truck show from Friday through Sunday. The show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, with gates opening two hours early. The show will feature monster trucks performing signature stunts and thrilling tricks. Guests who arrive early can meet drivers and take pictures. Tickets are $30 per person. Guests can buy one adult ticket and get one kid ticket free. At the Jersey Shore

  • Skimmer Festival 2017 will take over Sea Isle City this weekend. The festival will be open beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The event will include craft and food vendors, live music, children’s activities and amusement rides. There will be a dance party on Saturday night. On Sunday, visitors can enjoy a vintage car display and historic trolley tours. The festival will take place along the Promenade. In case of rain, most activities will be canceled.   • The Hereford Intel Lighthouse at 111 N. Central Avenue in North Wildwood will host its Maritime Festival this weekend. The festival will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event will feature historical displays from maritime and lighthouse museums, more than 100 crafters and vendors, historical lectures and activities for kids. Admission to the festival is free. In Philadelphia

  • The sixth annual Disability Pride Parade will take place on Saturday in Philadelphia. The event will begin at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies at the National Constitution Center. After speeches and a performance from local artists, the parade will travel down Market Street to City Hall and Dilworth Park. There will be activities following the parade, including more speeches, performances and activities for kids.   • Adults can enjoy a tasty scavenger hunt at Reading Terminal Market on Saturday. From noon to 3 p.m., Watson Adventures will hold a Munch Around the Market scavenger hunt. Participants will try to answer some tricky questions and sample some of the best food from the terminal market and Chinatown. The cost to participate is $22, plus $10 is needed to purchase food.
