District officials list possible referendum items in Cherry Hill Public Schools 2020 presentation

Cherry Hill school officials gave a final presentation on the findings of Cherry Hill Public Schools 2020 during last Tuesday’s board of education meeting. Superintendent Joe Meloche and Assistant Superintendent for Business Lynn Shugars went through a long list of items for the district to focus on in the months ahead. The district plans to compile a list of items to put in a possible referendum vote for September 2018.

Building a legacy: The keys to Rosa’s National History Day success

In the past 10 years, Rosa International Middle School’s National History Day team has grown from 10 students to 72. The team has had a lot of success in state competitions and has qualified at least one project for nationals in nine consecutive years. Rosa teacher and NHD team coordinator Christy Marrella credits the student’s dedication and hard work as reasons why the team has been so strong. However, the students’ projects are just a small part of NHD’s success.

Cantor Anita Hochman retiring after serving as spiritual leader for 36 years at M’kor Shalom

Since 1981, Anita Hochman has been a constant presence as the cantor at Congregation M’kor Shalom. On June 30, Hochman’s tenure as cantor will come to a close as she retires. However, Hochman’s tenure will not end without receiving a big thank you from the community. Hochman will receive the Marylee and Stuart Alperin M’kor Or (Source of Light) Leadership Award during a special celebration held in her honor on June 4.

New Jersey American Water replacing water mains on four Cherry Hill streets

Last Monday, New Jersey American Water announced four streets in Cherry Hill Township would receive new water main in 2017. NJAW is installing approximately 3,700 feet of new main in Cherry Hill and Stratford, replacing water main that was put into service as long ago as the 1950s. Bentwoods Drive, Hickory Lane, Bamford Court and Sandringham Place will all receive new water main this year. Installation is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Cherry Hill Police looking to identify theft suspect

On Thursday morning, Cherry Hill Police released a surveillance photo of a suspect they are trying to identify in an ongoing theft investigation. Police are on the lookout for a man who is wanted in reference to a recent theft at the RiteAid Pharmacy on Route 70 in Cherry Hill. Anyone who has information on the suspect is asked to contact Det.
