The Cougars will host Lenape High School on Monday afternoon for the South Jersey Group IV championship.
Cherry Hill High School East boys tennis will play for the South Jersey Group IV championship next Monday. The Cougars swept past Vineland High School, 5–0, in the semifinals of the sectional tournament on Thursday afternoon.
The Cougars won all five of their matches in straight sets. Adam Yu was perfect in a 6–0 6–0 win over Luis Ortiz at second singles. Rahul Goculdas won easily at first singles, defeating Anuj Patel 6–2 6–1.
Cherry hill East will face Lenape High School at home on Monday afternoon in the sectional championship match. The match will begin at 3Â p.m.
Cherry Hill West to start 2017 playoffs at home on Monday
Cherry Hill High School West baseball will open the 2017 South Jersey Group III playoffs at home on Monday.
The Lions are the №7 seed in this year’s playoff bracket. They will host №10 seed Ocean City High School on Monday at 3:45 p.m.
Prior to the start of the playoffs on Monday, Cherry Hill West will try to win the Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic tournament. They will take on Shawnee High School in the quarterfinals of the tournament tomorrow.
Cherry Hill West girls lacrosse falls short at Mainland
Cherry Hill West girls lacrosse fell short in the South Jersey Group III quarterfinals on Thursday as the Lions lost a tight game against Mainland Regional High School, 16–14.
Mainland outscored the Lions in the second half after the two teams entered halftime tied at 9–9. Ashley Lechliter led Cherry Hill West with five goals. Danielle Graham scored three goals and tallied two assists. Alexis Miller had four goals.
The Lions will go for their 10th win of the season against Cherry Hill High School East on Friday afternoon.
Cherry Hill West softball loses tight game to Delsea
The Lions softball team came just short of pulling off an upset on the road in the first round of the South Jersey Group III playoffs on Thursday. №14 seed Cherry Hill West lost to №3 Delsea Regional High School, 4–3, eliminating them from the postseason.
Rachel Kubrak led the Lions offensively with a double and a solo home run. Meg Davis and Foster Schaffer also recorded RBIs for the Lions, who led 3–2 in the seventh inning.
Delsea came from behind to win in the final inning, with Bailey Pennino hitting a walkoff RBI single to win the game.
