Sixty gift bags filled with toiletries were donated to residents
In anticipation of Mothers’ Day, South Jersey-based nonprofit organization Mothers Matter — the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation donated 60 gift bags filled with toiletries to residents of the Kennedy Health Care Center, a long-term skilled nursing facility located in Washington Township.
This year marks the 11th year that residents of the Kennedy Health Care Center have been recipients of the generous donations provided by Mothers Matters, part of the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation, established in 2000 by Cherry Hill resident Susan Rose in memory of her oldest daughter, Lauren. The Lauren Rose Albert Foundation works to assist women in need on many levels; its popular Mothers Matter Mother’s Day drive provides gift bags and baskets with beauty and personal care products to women throughout the region.
By the close of 2017, Rose says some 40,000 gift bags will have been delivered over the years, with more than 4,200 delivered in 2017 alone to daycare centers, hospitals, women’s shelters, nursing homes and other locations. Items in the gift bags are provided by individual donations and also through a partnership program with Dollar Tree stores.
