Evesham Police say camera catches home healthcare worker allegedly stealing money and medications

Suspicious of the home healthcare provider, police say a family member installed a camera inside the home.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On May 6, the Evesham Police Department responded to a home in the 200 block of Lakeshore Drive for a report of a home healthcare provider who police say was allegedly caught on camera stealing cash and medications from the victim’s residence.

In March of 2017, the elderly female’s son began noticing money missing from his mother’s wallet.

Suspicious of the home healthcare provider, police say the son installed a camera inside the home.

According to police, surveillance footage provided to officers showed the home healthcare provider allegedly stealing money from the patient’s wallet and prescription pills from her medication containers.

After observing the video footage and interviewing all parties involved, police say the Home healthcare provider was arrested.

Arrested:

A female, age 40, of Williamstown, was charged with third-degree theft and third-degree theft of controlled dangerous substance. She was released on her own recognizance.

Police encourage Evesham residents to be diligent when selecting a home healthcare provider for their loved ones and to report all suspicious activity.
