Lenape High School students win awards in photography contests

Several Lenape High School students recently competed in photography contests and were recognized for their work.

Lenape offers its congratulations to Emily Allen (grade 10), Stephanie Evans (grade 10), and Emory Alexander (grade 12).

Allen was awarded fourth place for her photo titled, “Golden” in the People/Animals category of the Ocean County Camera Club student photography contest.

Evans was awarded a Judges’ Choice award for “She’s A Rainbow” ​in the Photographers Choice — Color category.

In the national Photographers’ Society of America (PSA) contest, Alexander was accepted into the Gallery Showing category at the PSA for two of her images, “A Great Unfinished Symphony” and “Cries She, with Silent Lips.”

According to Lenape, John Townsend, the students’ teacher and school photographer, commented about the students’ awards.

“Once again, the Lenape photographers have shown their talents, but this time at​ a state and national level,” Townsend said.
