Junior student creating ‘Wall of Honor’ to celebrate military alumni
Along with the help of her art teacher Shamus Matthews, Flavia Scotto d’Antuno will paint a mural in the coming weeks on Burlington Township High School’s A Hallway wall. The plan is to create an American flag, and within the white stripes will be the names, graduation year, military branch and military photo of alumni. To date, Scotto d’Antuno has collected the names of more than 100 alumni to include on the wall.
Bringing theater to Burlington Township
Through a discussion of the problem with some friends and acquaintances, the Riverfront Community Players were born last year, and with the first run having been a success, the group is expanding this year in hopes of continuing to grow within Burlington City and Burlington Township. Linda Golden, president of the Riverfront Community Players board, said creating the group was about filling a need. She said the group’s founding members realized the community lacked an outlet for music and theater
Suspect charged with assault for 130 collision
Matthew Campbell, a 19 year-old male from Florence, has been criminally charged with three counts of assault by auto and additional motor vehicle violations including driving while under the influence for a March 6 accident in the area of Route 130 and Neck Road, according to the Burlington Township Police Department.
