Voorhees Police Department to host This Life Counts suicide prevention program

The event will take place at the Katz Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill.

The Voorhees Police Department will host This Life Counts (TLC) training on on Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m.

Katz JCC is located at 1301 Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.

This program is brought to the public through the partnership of Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Services and the Cherry Hill Police Department. It will engage the community on the difficult issue of youth suicide and mental health issues.

An alarming statistic reflects that since 2000, suicide rates for 10 to 14 year olds have doubled.

Through TLC, a panel of experts provides awareness and tools for prevention, such as discussion of warning signs and protective factors, how to help those who may need it, and available resources.

This program is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, Camden County Board of Freeholders, Jewish Women’s Foundation, Gesher Philanthropy Initiative/ JCC Camps at Medford, and Mitchell and Jodi Ziets.
