Libraries across New Jersey will be celebrating NJ Makers Day 2017 this weekend and the Katz JCC will wrap up its 2017 Jewish Film Festival. Find out what other events are taking place around the region thisĀ weekend:

Around SouthĀ Jersey

  • The Katz JCCā€™s Cherry Hill Volvo Jewish Film Festival wraps up on Sunday with two film screenings at Carmike Ritz Center 16, 900 Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Voorhees. At 2:30 p.m., enjoy a screening of ā€œMidnight Orchestra.ā€ The final film of the festival, ā€œA Grain of Truth,ā€ will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $14 for the general public.   • The Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library in Sewell is celebrating Maker Day with their annual Comic Jam. The event takes place on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the library, 606 Delsea Drive, in Sewell. The comic workshop will teach visitors how to make their own comic book. Books will be created at the end of the program compiling everyoneā€™s work. The event is open to all ages. No registration required. For more information on the event, visit www.hegganlibrary.org.
  • Model train fans will want to be in Evesham Twp. on Sunday as Evesham Fire-Rescue hosts its annual Train and Toy Show. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Main Street Fire Station, 26 East Main Street, in Marlton. There will be items for collectors to purchase, a test track, food and free parking. Admission is $3 for individuals and $5 for families. Proceeds benefit the restoration and maintenance of the Marlton Fire Company 1927 Hale Pumper and the Historic Marlton Fire Company firehouse, located in the rear of the Main StreetĀ Station.

At the JerseyĀ Shore

  • Runners will converge on Wildwood this weekend for two events. On Saturday, the Wildwoods Convention Center will host the Ocean Drive Health and Fitness Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can shop for the latest in runnerā€™s gear and accessories. The expo is free and open to the public. On Sunday, the Ocean Drive Marathon will take place beginning at 9 a.m. through the scenic barrier islands of Cape May County. There will also be a 5K run and 1.5 mile fun run. Registration is available at the expo. Visit www.odmarathon.org for more information.
  • Meet some of the leading garden and environmental groups of South Jersey at the South Jersey Garden Group Show. The show will take place at McNaughtonā€™s Garden Center on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some of the groups present at the event will be the Native Plant Society of NJ, Somers Point Green Thumb Garden Club, Sandpiper Orchid Society and the Somers Point Green Team. In Philadelphia

  • Greensgrow Urban Farm will kick off its 20th anniversary spring season on Saturday at 4 p.m. The farm will host a pen house, shopping, reception and arts dedications to honor the memory of founder Mary Seton Corboy. There will be a mural unveiling, a presentation of a citation from the office of Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, an announcement of Maryā€™s Community Fund grant award winners and the official kick-off of Greensgrowā€™s fundraising campaign for the next 20 years. The rain date for Saturdayā€™s ceremony is Sunday. The event is free to attend. The farm is located at 2501 E. Cumberland Street in Philadelphia. Visit www.greensgrow.org for more information.
  • Enjoy a festival of animated feature and short films created by women at the Moore College of Art and Design this weekend. Saturday and Sunday are the final days of the 2017 MooreWomenArtists: Women in Animation Film Festival, which is being held in conjunction with Womenā€™s History Month.
