A special meeting was held on Monday, March 6 to identify upgrades.
Moorestown Town Council has been working in conjunction with the state Department of Environmental Protection to upgrade the town’s water treatment plants, in compliance with an administrative consent order the EPA issued.
Taking steps finalize a plan, council held a special meeting on Monday, March 6 to better identify and review its options. All council members were present at this meeting, as was the township engineer, Russell Trice, P.E., a senior associate at the Alaimo Group. Together, they discussed the water treatment plant options, a feasibility study for the options, capacity requirements and how the town will handle these and all other potential issues.
“The meeting went well, and now we’ll be able to come out with more direction on how we want to move forward with the plants,” Township Manager Thomas Merchel said.
Although council is not able to share what each option entails due to the meeting having been an executive session, it plans to have an overview prepared for discussion at its meeting on Monday, March 27, if not sooner.
