MTC keeps anti-discrimination message in place with Hairspray Jr.
Shortly after pieces of hate literature, comprised of KKK flyers, were found in town, the Moorestown Theater Company has put together its version of a musical applauded for addressing issues surrounding discrimination. The show, “Hairspray, Jr.,” will feature a 100-person cast and portray an ever-timely message regarding civil rights.
American Guild of Organists presents Chelsea Chen
Internationally acclaimed recitalist and principal organist at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Chelsea Chen, will perform a recital at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 at the First United Methodist Church, located at 446 E. Camden Avenue. A reception will follow in the Susan D. Rodgers Music Ministry Center.

Trinity Episcopal Church’s God’s Diversity Committee will feature Sherry Sadoff Hanck, daughter of Joan and Robert Sadoff, producers of the award winning documentary, Standing on My Sisters’ Shoulders, and editor and co-editor, respectively, of the associated book it inspired, Pieces From the Past: Voices of Heroic Women in Civil Rights.
Recap: Soup for the Soul Charity Event
On Saturday, Feb. 25, the Moorestown High School Interact Club hosted the 15th Annual Soup for the Soul Charity event. The event was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown, New Jersey. All proceeds from the event went to the charity Philabundance, which is a charity dedicated to ending hunger in the Delaware Valley.
Moorestown Township pulls handle on hydrant flush
Striving to clear Moorestown of the brown water occurrences, as reported by residents over the recent months, the township has announced it plans to conduct hydrant flushings for three weeks, beginning on Saturday, April 1. The goal of this flush is to eliminate all brown water issues caused by sediment in the pipes.
Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio Announces First Shred Event of 2017
Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced that the first shredding event of 2017 will be held on Sunday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex, located at 22,000 Burlington-Columbus Road in Mansfield.
Moorestown Theater Company wins third acting award in four years
Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) received a Freddie G Excellence In Acting Award for its full cast at the 2017 Junior Theater Festival, the world’s largest musical theater festival for children, which took place Friday, Jan. 13 through Monday, Jan. 16 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Ga. This is the third time in four years that MTC has received this award.
