This President’s Day, Rowan College at Burlington County will livestream a lecture with presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin from Rowan University to RCBC’s Enterprise Center Auditorium on Monday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Goodwin, whose best-selling, critically acclaimed work has focused on the Roosevelts, the Kennedys, Abraham Lincoln and Lyndon B. Johnson, among others, will discuss presidential leadership.
Her appearance at the university is part of the President’s Lecture Series, which brings prominent speakers to campus. It is available to the RCBC community through the premier partnership with the university.
At the age of 24, Goodwin became a White House Fellow, working directly with President Lyndon Johnson and later assisted him in the preparation of his memoirs.
Recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for history for “No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II,” Goodwin was awarded the prestigious Lincoln Prize and the inaugural Book Prize for “American History for Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln.”
Stephen Spielberg’s award-winning film “Lincoln” was based in part on her book.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information on this President’s Lecture Series event, please visit Rowan University’s website.
